An Islamic School or place of learning is called a Madrasah. Giving children the correct ta’leem (Islamic Education) and tarbiyyah (Upbringing) is a major responsibility of parents. If they fail to make proper arrangements for the ta’leem of their children and do not give them proper tarbiyyah, they will face severe questioning on the Day of Reckoning.
Madrasahs are set up to support parents of the local community to discharge this responsibility. Children will only fully benefit when parents monitor and reinforce what is taught to them at the Madrasah.
In accordance with the above, Worthing Masjid (Mosque) holds 2 weekday Madrasah sessions per day (Monday to Thursday) for both boys (aged 5 -16) and girls (aged 5 -12).
- The first session is from 4.00pm – 5.30pm
- The second session is from 5.45pm – 7.30pm.
Parents can choose to bring their children to whichever session is convenient.
Parents must decide at the start of the Madrasah term as to which session they prefer.
The Madrasah term runs from September to June. The Madrasah is closed during Ramadhan.
