Eid al-Ahda 2020

*Re: Eid Salah to be held at the Masjid.*

Assalamualaikum

With deep regret and sadness, we are writing to inform you that Eid Salah will now be held at the Masjid and no longer at Pond Lane as was initially announced and advertised.

After indicating last week that there would be no issue obtaining permission to offer the Eid Salah outside, Worthing Borough Council contacted us today to say that due to the changing Covid-19 situation, they can no longer allow any group to congregate in large numbers.

As a result, Eid Jamaats will be held in the Masjid this Friday (31st July) at the following times:

First Jamaat: 8.30am
Second Jamaat: 9.00am
Third Jamaat: 9.30am
Fourth Jamaat: 10.00am.

Due to social distancing rules, there is space for only 90 worshippers at a time.

The doors of the Masjid will be opened at 8am and once the capacity is filled, attendees will have to wait for the next Eid Salah to enter.

Please make wudhu from home and bring your prayer mat with you.

Anyone with Covid-19 symptoms or underlying health conditions must not attend the Masjid.

Unfortunately, on this occasion we will *NOT* be able to accommodate sisters for the Eid Salah.

Like recent weeks, there will also be 3 Jumuah Salahs on Eid day at 1.20pm, 1.45pm and 2.15pm.

Please read our detailed guidance for the Masjid’s Covid-19 guidelines on the links below.

Jumuah Salah Times

We thank you for your co-operation.

Please note: Although all effort has been made to follow the government’s Covid-19 policy, the Masjid cannot accept responsibility for any individuals.

Jumuah Salah Times

**Jumuah Salah Times:

First Jumuah: 1.15pm
Second Jumuah: 1.45pm
Third Jumuah: 2.15pm**

Assalamualaikum,

Alhamdulillah after three months we will be able to offer Jumuah salah in congregation again from this Friday. (10th July)

As a result of social distancing, there is capacity for only around 90 people in our Masjid at a time.

Therefore, we have decided to hold 3 separate Jumuah Salahs.

Attendees will be allowed in according to order of arrival.

The doors of the Masjid will be opened at 12.45pm and once the capacity is filled, attendees will have to wait for the next Jumuah to enter. We thank you in advance for your co-operation and understanding.

Sisters wishing to attend have been allocated space during the 3rd Jumuah. (2.15pm)

There will be no English Bayan before any Jumuah salah. After the Fardh salah, (no sunnah) attendees are requested to leave the Masjid immediately through the rear exit, following the one way system in operation. The whole Masjid needs to be disinfected before the next jamaat can be performed.

Therefore, please offer your Sunnah salah at home or elsewhere.

All attendees must:

1, Be over the age of 13 and not have underlying health conditions or suspected Covid-19 symptoms.

2, Perform wudhu at home. (Wudhu and Toilet facilities are NOT available at the Masjid)

3, Line up in an orderly manner, maintaining social distancing while temperatures are taken and attendees are permitted in.

4, Bring your own prayer mat.

5, Wear a face mask and sanitise your hands on entry.

6, Maintain social distancing at all times.

7, Refrain from socialising and standing in groups inside or outside the Masjid.

8, Adhere at all times to advice and instructions provided by Masjid volunteers.

Once again we thank you for your co-operation.

Please note: Although all effort has been made to follow the government’s Covid-19 policy, the Masjid cannot accept responsibility for any individuals.

Re-opening of Worthing Masjid on July 4th 2020

Dear Mussallees,

The re- opening of Worthing Masjid statement sent out yesterday has been revised. Please see below.

In accordance with appendix 6 (should I pray in the Mosque?) issued by The British Islamic Medical Association, we are advising doctors, nurses and frontline NHS workers not to attend prayers. We are not preventing them from attending.

I (Imam Idris) and the Worthing Masjid committee recognise and are extremely grateful for the sacrifice and commitment of all NHS workers. We apologise for any misunderstanding in our earlier statement.
