Re opening of Madrasah September 2020

Assalamualaikum,

Dear parents,

I am writing to inform you that the Madrasah will reopen from Tuesday next week for staggered re-introductions.
Every child is asked to attend only once next week on their allocated day.

Please find letter below with all the details. We are hoping to reopen fully the week after and it’s important for both the pupils and the children to attend on the allocated day next week to help us plan for the future.

Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or queries.

Wassalaam,

Imam Idris Nawab

Eid al-Ahda 2020

*Re: Eid Salah to be held at the Masjid.*

Assalamualaikum

With deep regret and sadness, we are writing to inform you that Eid Salah will now be held at the Masjid and no longer at Pond Lane as was initially announced and advertised.

After indicating last week that there would be no issue obtaining permission to offer the Eid Salah outside, Worthing Borough Council contacted us today to say that due to the changing Covid-19 situation, they can no longer allow any group to congregate in large numbers.

As a result, Eid Jamaats will be held in the Masjid this Friday (31st July) at the following times:

First Jamaat: 8.30am
Second Jamaat: 9.00am
Third Jamaat: 9.30am
Fourth Jamaat: 10.00am.

Due to social distancing rules, there is space for only 90 worshippers at a time.

The doors of the Masjid will be opened at 8am and once the capacity is filled, attendees will have to wait for the next Eid Salah to enter.

Please make wudhu from home and bring your prayer mat with you.

Anyone with Covid-19 symptoms or underlying health conditions must not attend the Masjid.

Unfortunately, on this occasion we will *NOT* be able to accommodate sisters for the Eid Salah.

Like recent weeks, there will also be 3 Jumuah Salahs on Eid day at 1.20pm, 1.45pm and 2.15pm.

Please read our detailed guidance for the Masjid’s Covid-19 guidelines on the links below.

Jumuah Salah Times

**Jumuah Salah Times:

First Jumuah: 1.15pm
Second Jumuah: 1.45pm
Third Jumuah: 2.15pm**

Assalamualaikum,

Alhamdulillah after three months we will be able to offer Jumuah salah in congregation again from this Friday. (10th July)

As a result of social distancing, there is capacity for only around 90 people in our Masjid at a time.

Therefore, we have decided to hold 3 separate Jumuah Salahs.

Attendees will be allowed in according to order of arrival.

The doors of the Masjid will be opened at 12.45pm and once the capacity is filled, attendees will have to wait for the next Jumuah to enter. We thank you in advance for your co-operation and understanding.

Sisters wishing to attend have been allocated space during the 3rd Jumuah. (2.15pm)

There will be no English Bayan before any Jumuah salah. After the Fardh salah, (no sunnah) attendees are requested to leave the Masjid immediately through the rear exit, following the one way system in operation. The whole Masjid needs to be disinfected before the next jamaat can be performed.

Therefore, please offer your Sunnah salah at home or elsewhere.

All attendees must:

1, Be over the age of 13 and not have underlying health conditions or suspected Covid-19 symptoms.

2, Perform wudhu at home. (Wudhu and Toilet facilities are NOT available at the Masjid)

3, Line up in an orderly manner, maintaining social distancing while temperatures are taken and attendees are permitted in.

4, Bring your own prayer mat.

5, Wear a face mask and sanitise your hands on entry.

6, Maintain social distancing at all times.

7, Refrain from socialising and standing in groups inside or outside the Masjid.

8, Adhere at all times to advice and instructions provided by Masjid volunteers.

Once again we thank you for your co-operation.

Please note: Although all effort has been made to follow the government’s Covid-19 policy, the Masjid cannot accept responsibility for any individuals.

Re-opening of Worthing Masjid on July 4th 2020

Dear Mussallees,

The re- opening of Worthing Masjid statement sent out yesterday has been revised. Please see below.

In accordance with appendix 6 (should I pray in the Mosque?) issued by The British Islamic Medical Association, we are advising doctors, nurses and frontline NHS workers not to attend prayers. We are not preventing them from attending.

I (Imam Idris) and the Worthing Masjid committee recognise and are extremely grateful for the sacrifice and commitment of all NHS workers. We apologise for any misunderstanding in our earlier statement.

Worthing Masjid Lockdown update.

*Worthing Masjid Lockdown update.*

Assalamu’alaikum,

Dear brothers and sisters,

It has now been over two months since the lockdown began and I would like to thank you all for abiding with the instruction not to attend the Masjid. I know it has been difficult for all of us to keep away from the house of Allah (especially in the month of Ramadan and for Eid Day). I pray that Allah rewards us all for our Sabr. In Shaa Allah we make doa that it will not be long before we can reopen the doors of our Masjid and pray together again.

In the meantime, it is important that we continue observing all government guidelines which include suspension of activities in places of Worship.

Other than Imam Idris only two other Committee Members (Abdul Khahar and Aksar Uddin Sikder) have been allowed to attend the Masjid regularly to ensure that Adhaan, Salah and Jumuah is taking place in the Masjid.

Their names have been submitted to the Police who have agreed that it is sensible and within the guidelines to have designated two committee members for the above mentioned reasons.

Please note that the Assistant Imam (Br Mounir) has been furloughed and cannot do any official work for the Masjid

It is vitally important for everyone else to resist the urge to attend Masjid and please stay away from the Masjid.

The Local Police are pleased to note that the Masjid is closed to members of the public and it must continue to remain so until lockdown restrictions are lifted.

I urge you all to make doa that this lockdown is lifted sooner rather than later.

In the meantime, please continue to offer Salah and do Ibadah at home. We have done really well so far and we do not want to spoil it now.

Ali Abdul Rahman.
Chairman
(On behalf of Worthing Masjid)

Eid-ul Fitr 2020 will be on Sunday the 24th of May

Assalamualaikum,

*Eid-ul Fitr 2020 will be on Sunday the 24th of May*

We make duaa that Allah SWA accepts our good deeds of Ramadhan and he grants a joyous and spiritual day of Eid to Muslims around the globe. (Ameen)

The Masjid will remain closed to the public due to the lockdown and there will be no Eid Jamaat in the park this year. Eid Jamaat should be offered according to Islamic guidance at home, workplace or elsewhere. Please ensure that you comply with the lockdown regulations at all times, pay the Sadaqatul Fitr via a reputable charity before Eid Salah time and observe the Sunnahs of Eid day.

The Eid Salah will be offered by a few key workers in the Masjid in accordance with the law. To help make this day special for everyone, Worthing Masjid will be broadcasting the Eid service live via its Masjid Facebook page:

https://m.facebook.com/WorthingMasjid/?locale2=en_GB

The timings for this are as follows:

9.30am: English Bayan (Speech)
9.50am: Eid Salah (Do not follow from home. Please offer separately following the Islamic Guidance)
10.00am: Arabic Khutbah

Please observe all the etiquetes of Eid before 9.30am and thereafter join us to listen to the speech.

I know many people have questions regarding the fiqh of offering Eid Salah at home. To find the answer I would advise that you read the following portal endorsed by senior scholars around the U.K.

Covid-19: Eid Salah during lockdown

Everyone is requested to maintain respect for the various positions of scholars in this regard, and supplicate to Allah Almighty to protect us all and remove this calamity, so we can perform Ṣalah in the Masjids as soon as possible.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if any of your questions remain unanswered.

Finally on behalf of everyone at Worthing Masjid, I make duaa that you have an extremely profitable end to the month of Ramadhan as well as a joyous and spiritually uplifting day of Eid. (Ameen)

Regards,

Guidance from Worthing Masjid regarding Eid Salah and information about its Facebook live broadcast.

*Guidance from Worthing Masjid regarding Eid Salah and information about its Facebook live broadcast.*

Assalamualaikum,

Dear Brothers and Sisters.

I make duaa that you are well and are trying to make the most of the remaining days of the month of Ramadan.

Every second of this blessed month is precious, therefore it is vital that we spend as much time as possible therein engaging in Worship and making Duaa to Allah SWA.

However, with Eid fast approaching, (Saturday or Sunday depending on the sighting of the moon) this message will In Sha Allah advise you about what to do on this special day.

Even though we are unable to offer Eid Salah in congregation due to the lockdown, it is still vitally important that we observe all the other guidance in Shariah and we try to make this day as special as possible.

*General advice*

Ṣadaqat al-Fiṭr should be donated in advance of Eid day via a reputable charity so that it reaches the poor by Eid day. The Prophet ﷺ prescribed it as purification of the fasting from idle talk and obscenities and also as food for the poor (Sunan Abī Dāwūd, 1609).

Eid is a great blessing of Allah Almighty.

It is therefore important to adopt the Sunnah practices of Eid even if one does not perform Eid Ṣalāh, expressing his gratitude to Allah Almighty and marking the occasion of happiness and joy.

1) Performing Fajr Ṣalāh in congregation at home.

2) Undertaking Ghusl (bath) before Eid Ṣalāh (or the Nafl Ṣalāh) and using the Miswak.

3) Applying perfume.

4) Wearing the best clothes available, it is not necessary to go shopping to purchase new clothes.

5) Eating dates or something sweet before Eid Ṣalāh (or the Nafl Ṣalāh).

6) Reciting Takbīr in abundance.

7) Congratulating others in person and over the phone by saying تَقَبَّلَّ اللهُ مِنَّا وَمِنْكَ (may Allah accept [the worship] from us and you) (al-Tārīkh al-Kabīr, 1:116; al-Thiqāt, 9:90; al-Duʿāʾ, p.288; al-Sunan al-Kubrā, 3:446).

8) Donating charity and keeping the poor and vulnerable in mind.

To help make this day special, Worthing Masjid will be broadcasting the Eid service live via its Masjid Facebook page:
